Message from the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology

Students from flood areas and students actively engaged in helping to remove the effects of flooding as volunteers may, according to the provisions of §32 of the Regulations of Studies of the Silesian University of Technology, submit to the Vice-Dean for Student Affairs and Education / Deputy Director for Student Affairs and Education an application for exemption from the obligation to participate in classes.

The terms and the deadline for the course shall be determined respectively by the Vice-Dean for Student Affairs and Education/Deputy Director for Student Affairs and Education in agreement with the lecturer.

Due to the situation, students planning a long-term absence have the opportunity to apply for a random leave on the basis of § 54 section 10 of the Rules of Studies of the Silesian University of Technology.

In accordance with the recommendation of the Minister of Science, I ask you to justify students’ absence from classes and to allow students from areas covered by the flood or students actively involved in helping people affected by the flood to take advantage of random leave.
