Meeting with Prof. Aida Guerra
The Centre for Modern Education of the Silesian University of Technology and the ENVIHEI project board cordially invite you to a meeting with Prof. Aida Guerra, Deputy Director of the Aalborg Centre for PBL in Engineering Science and Sustainability under the auspices of UNESCO, which is an associated partner of EURECA-PRO, from the University of Aalborg in Denmark. The event will take place next Monday, March 3, from 2.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. at the Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science in Gliwice (16 Akademicka Street, hall F on the 2nd floor).
Prof. Aida Guerra research focuses on integrating sustainability into engineering education and enhancing academic staff professional development through innovative pedagogical approaches. Her work emphasizes Problem-Based and Project-Organized Learning (PBL), and its use for curriculum development and course re-design. She is responsible for developing and implementing several staff development programmes using PBL as methodology as well.
This meeting is organized in connection with ‘ENVIHEI: Student-centered learning for Environmental sustainability at Higher Education Institutions’ and in collaboration with Centre for Modern Education of the Silesian University of Technology.
The ENVIHEI project offers training where PBL and sustainability are integrated as one. Each training activity are in the form of workshops with hands-on activities addressing specific elements of PBL practice (e.g., design problems, facilitate learning, assessment, etc.), as well as formulation of learning outcomes related with sustainability and contextualized in the discipline subject.
