Mariusz Walter, a graduate of the Silesian University of Technology, has died

We regret to inform you that Mariusz Walter - a journalist, television producer, founder of TVN, died on December 13th at the age of 85. He was a graduate of the Silesian University of Technology.

Mariusz Walter was born on January 4th, 1937, in Lviv. After the war, his family settled in Poland.

In the years 1955-1961 Mariusz Walter studied at the Silesian University of Technology. He graduated from the Faculty of Sanitary Engineering. He defended his thesis "Conceptual design for the modernization of water management at Koksownia M", obtaining MSc degree in sanitary engineering.

He started working in the media in the student radio station. Then he worked as a journalist and TV producer, initially at TVP. In the nineties of the 20th century, he founded TVN television. He was one of the most influential people in the Polish media in recent decades.
