Logopaedic ABC in the work of an academic teacher
Another Science Populariser Toolbox for popularizing science is ahead of us – already on April 2nd. The meeting will be devoted to speech therapy, the knowledge of which is extremely useful in the work of academic teachers, lecturers, people communicating science. We will be introduced to the secrets of speech therapy by Anna Waligóra, PhD in social sciences.
We will talk about speech therapy, i.e. science dealing with the diagnosis, therapy and prevention of speech, communication and language disorders, during the Tool of Populariser of Science with Anna Waligóra PhD ( Social Sciences) , director of the Centre for Modern Education of the Silesian University of Technology, assistant professor at the Faculty of Organization and Management, educator, speech therapist, specialist in media voice emission, therapist, specialist in inclusive and integrative education, as well as in the field of social rehabilitation and prevention. In the area of speech therapy, for 15 years she has been involved in the process of diagnosis and therapy of speech disorders, as well as in the implementation of activities popularizing the subject of speech defect prevention and training specialists.
During the online meeting, we will talk, among others, about:
- the construction of the temporomandibular joint, its functions, and the prevention of disorders, including the possibility of massage,
- key diseases and disorders related to speech organs,
- the pace of speech and the quality of articulation: from ebolofrasy to hypercorrectness,
- hand gestures and opportunities to stimulate communication.
