Let’s play science – gamification in the Fairground of Knowledge
In March, in the Science Populariser Toolbox, we will host Dr Magdalena Christ, Prof. UŚ – researcher at the Institute of Pedagogy of the University of Silesia in Katowice. The meeting will be dedicated to gamification.
How is Game-Based Learning different from Gamification? How to design competitive classes for different groups of recipients? Where do you get inspiration to conduct this type of activity? During the meeting on March 25th at 18:00 we will look for answers to these and other questions. We will get to know examples of gambled activities addressed to early school children, secondary school pupils, and students. We will analyse the project entitled “Fairground of Knowledge: Mission Reactivation” which is part of the module for students at the University of Silesia in Katowice entitled “Let’s play science – games and gamification” (within the framework of open university modules).
The host of the Science Populariser Tool will be Dr Magdalena Christ, Prof. of the University of Silesia – PhD in social sciences in pedagogy, professor at the Institute of Pedagogy at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Silesia in Katowice, author of scientific and popular science publications on educational topics. She deals with the implementation of gamification, visual thinking and sketch note, tutoring, Design Thinking, Lego Serious Play, Mindfulness training, pedagogy of adventure.
