Technical University of Crete, a member of EURECA-PRO, organizes a series of open scientific lectures as part of the exchange of scientific staff. One of them will be delivered on Wednesday, April 22^nd at 12:30 by Dr Hab. Eng. Adam Długosz, Prof. SUT, assistant professor in the Department of Mechanics and Computational Engineering of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology, one of the partner universities EUECA-PRO.

The lecture by Prof. Długosz is entitled: “Selected aspects of multi-criteria optimization problems in mechanical engineering with the use of meta-heuristic algorithms” and will also be available online.

During the lecture, the developed methods, and algorithms of multi-criteria optimization with the use of meta-heuristic algorithms for selected issues in the field of mechanical engineering will be presented. This will include the efficiency of the methods developed and their practical applications, e.g. in the optimization of composite structures, MEMS systems, and others. The optimization criteria shall be determined by solving the relevant boundary problems using the Finite Element Method (MES). A brief overview of the coupling of the MES software and the optimization algorithms used will also be presented.
