Last working sessions at EURECA-PRO Review Week

Building a strategy for common digital learning platforms of the European University and defining joint activities involving innovation - among other things, such issues were taken up on Thursday during the last working sessions of the EURECA-PRO main bodies. The EURECA-PRO Review Week is coming to an end at the Silesian University of Technology.

(…) Today, from morning, the last working sessions of the EURECA-PRO main bodies took place: the IT Task Force, where a strategy for common digital learning and administrative platforms of the European University is being built; the Innovation Task Force - the equivalent of our Centre for Incubation and Technology Transfer for the consortium's joint activities in the field of innovation and intellectual property protection; International Relations Task Force - the counterpart of our International Relations Office, where, among other things, a strategy for increasing academic mobility within the consortium, recognition of the effects of studies, as well as where discussions were held on the directions and strategy for building relations with universities from outside the consortium, in particular from countries from outside the European Union - said Marcin Górski, PhD, Deputy Project Manager of EURECA-PRO at the Silesian University of Technology.

On Thursday, there was also an intercultural workshop as part of the Transversal Skills Task Force.

Moreover, students from the Student Co-Creation Group (the nucleus of the student government of the future European University) visited the Kirchhoff Automotive factory in Gliwice and the laboratories of several faculties, e.g. the Faculty of Civil Engineering, where they met with scientists conducting scientific research at the Silesian University of Technology. In parallel, Rectors of the partner universities visited the Zabrze and Katowice campuses of the Silesian University of Technology.

Thursday is the last day of thematic meetings.

EURECA-PRO Review Week is a several-day meeting of representatives of eight European universities associated in EURECA-PRO consortium. The meeting organised at the Silesian University of Technology is attended by over 140 people - rectors of partner universities, scientists, students and administration officers.

The previous days included a plenary meeting of the Rectors of the universities associated with the consortium, a meeting of the Educational Council, and a meeting of the Research Task Force.

There was also a side event of EURECA-PRO Review Week, prepared by the Science Popularisation Centre of the Silesian University of Technology - "We support sport scientifically". The academic community also got a chance to see the post-competition exhibition of ECO with EURECA made by children and young adults.

The EURECA-PRO (European University on Responsible Consumption and Production) consortium brings together 8 European universities: Silesian University of Technology (Poland),  Montanuniversität Leoben (Austria), Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg (Germany), Technical University of Crete (Greece), Universidad de León (Spain), University of Petrosani (Romania), University of Applied Sciences Mittweida (Germany) and Hasselt University (Belgium).

Participation in the EURECA-PRO consortium is beneficial for students, researchers and doctoral students of member universities. Students can participate in joint study programmes, benefit from classes organised by lecturers from other countries at partner universities. Doctoral students can participate in mutual programmes, while researchers can implement various European programmes and jointly apply for funding.
