Katowice will host the "Charity Run: Run4theBEST"
A "Charity Run: Run4theBEST" will be held in Katowice for the first time. The income from the event will be donated to Cordis Hospice. The run is organised by BEST Gliwice, a student organisation operating at the Silesian University of Technology.
The "Charity Run: Run4theBEST" will be held on 29th August in Kościuszki Park in Katowice. This is the first edition of this event. The income from it will be donated to Cordis Hospice from Katowice, which takes care of children and adults with cancer and other chronic diseases.
"We want to show that students are not only involved in science, but are also able to devote their free time to helping those in need," says Bartłomiej Cieśliczka, the main organiser of the event.
Anyone can take part in the run, you just need to be over 18. There will be 5 km to run. The track will be paved as it runs through the main paths of Kościuszki Park.
“We are not forgetting about children either. If everything goes according to plan, an area with animators will be created especially for them. It will be a great place to leave children under the supervision of specialists, while parents will be covering subsequent kilometres” adds Bartłomiej Cieśliczka.
The income from the event will be donated to Cordis Hospice from Katowice. “In the current epidemiological situationevery medical institution is affected by the pandemic. We decided that if we can help anyone using our experience and skills, why not try and do something good for another person. We are going to donate the income collected from the registration for the run to this hospice" says Bartłomiej Cieśliczka.
The organiser of the charity run is BEST Gliwice, a student organisation operating at the Silesian University of Technology.
