Jubilee of the Silesian University of Technology – 22^nd of May 2025

The Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, Prof. Marek Pawełczyk and the Senate of the University are pleased to invite you to the celebrations connected with the 80^th  anniversary of Silesian University of Technology, which will take place  on the 22^nd of  May 2025 at 11.00 in the Education and Congress Centre  at 18B, Konarskiego Street in Gliwice.

During this unique academy, a solemn meeting of the University Senate will be held. This is a unique opportunity for the entire academic community to participate.

On this day, many distinguished guests will appear at the Silesian University of Technology, including Wojciech Saługa – Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship, Kazimierz Karolczak – Chairman of the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis, Prof. Piotr Jedynak - Rector of the Jagiellonian University, Artur Tomasik - President of the Upper Silesian Aviation GroupS.A. and President of the University Council, Prof Marzena Czarnecka – Minister of Industry, Prof. Marek Gzik – Secretary of State at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik – Rector of the Lodz University of Technology and the President of KRPUT (Conference of Rectors of Polish Technical Universities)

The highlight of the event will be the presentation of the Medals of the Silesian University of Technology, awarded on the occasion of the 80^th  anniversary of the University. Medals will be awarded to the Marshal Office of the Silesian Voivodeship, the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis, the Upper Silesian Aviation Group SA, and the Katowice Special Economic Zone SA.

The artistic setting of the ceremony will be taken care of by the Academic Music Ensemble of the Silesian University of Technology.
