We invite you to participate in a free webinar with Materials Design titled “Solving Problems in the Golden Age of Computational Materials Science,” which will be hosted by co-founder and Chief Science Officer of the company - Dr Erich Wimmer.
Materials Design is a software development company providing services in the field of materials research, with which the Silesian University of Technology established cooperation in 2024. Dr Erich Wimmer visited our University back then and delivered a lecture. He is a co-founder, scientific director and chairman of the board of Materials Design, author of more than 130 scientific publications and an active leader in the international materials research community.
The webinar is addressed in particular to people interested in the development and use of artificial intelligence methods and the design of modern materials.
High-performance computer programs such as VASP, unprecedented computing power, and intuitive large-scale modelling environments have made computational material science an integral part of research and development. In this webinar, you will learn how you can use these powerful tools in your research, e.g. by optimizing the performance of electronic devices, controlling the interface properties between organic and inorganic materials, discovering the reaction mechanisms, determining the effect of grain boundaries on hydrogen diffusion in metallic microstructures, controlling the thermo-mechanical properties of polymers and predicting stress distribution in thin layers produced by PVD.
The one-hour webinar will be held on January 27th -29th at different times to allow as many participants as possible. Detailed information about the hours and the registration form are available on the website: Problem solving in the Golden Age of Computational Materials Science
