Invitation to the Gliwice Choral Meetings
Gliwice will once again become a centre of choral music! The upcoming Gliwice Choral Meetings are a unique festival that has been popularizing the beauty of group singing for years and presenting the incredibly rich world of domestic and international choral music. This is an event that not only delights artistically but also builds the musical sensitivity of the region's inhabitants - from the youngest to the elderly. All festival events are free, allowing everyone to immerse themselves in the world of vocal music and discover its diversity. This year's festival program includes two unique concerts and vocal and music workshops.
The opening concert will take place on April the 18th, 2026, at 7:00 PM, at the Cathedral of St. Apostles Peter and Paul in Gliwice The Academic Choir of the Silesian University of Technology and the Chamber Choir of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice will perform during the concert. They will be accompanied by the pianist, Prof. Grzegorz Biegas and soloists: Prof. Ewa Biegas, Aleksandra Gawrych, Michał Ryguła and Kacper Kostrzewski. The artists will perform the “Mass in F major” by Józef Michał Ksawery Poniatowski.
On the second day, April 19th, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., the "Mrowisko" Student Culture Centre will host free, open vocal and music workshops led by Adam Saczko, a vocalist, conductor, composer, and educator known for his work on the Polish folk and gospel scene. The workshops will culminate in the participants performing during the final evening concert.
On the same day (19/04/2026) at 6:30 p.m., in the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Gliwice, the final concert will take place. The Cantores Sancti Nicolai Men's Choir from Bochnia and the Academic Choir of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology will perform. This will be a meeting of two choirs with a rich tradition and a great passion for music. During the concert, workshop participants will also perform a prepared repertoire.
