Invitation to participate in the Forum on the Future of the City of Science
On May the 9th, 2025, Katowice will host the Forum on the Future of the City of Science – an event that will be an opportunity to summarize the year of the European City of Science Katowice 2024 celebrations and plan new initiatives.
The Forum on the Future of the City of Science is ahead of us. During the event, the activities to date will be summarized and further initiatives, which will be developed in the region as part of the European City of Science Katowice 2024 will be planned.
The event will take place on Europe Day, the 9th of May 2025 at 9:00 in SPINplace of the University of Silesia in Katowice, 5, Bankowa Street.
The program includes presentation of data and publications on the activities of the City of Science and presentation of the state of progress of work on the future of joint initiatives of universities from the region. Among the proposals for further actions is launching the Scientific Program for Silesia, the Green Science Zone, and the Network Science Centre.
During the event, there will also be a discussion panel entitled “5 important questions about the City of Science” and a Cooperation Forum. Moderated discussions will address five key themes of the future of the City of Science, i.e. cooperation; scientific research; responsibility for the natural environment; education and living conditions in the region and science as a tool for social dialog.
On the same day, the inauguration of the second edition of the Festival “We want the River. Celebration of Rawa River.”
The Forum may be attended by anyone who feels part of the City of Science. In particular, we invite scientists, students, representatives of institutions, organizations, and media, as well as all residents interested in the future of Katowice and the region.
