Invitation to a lecture by a world-class scientist
We invite you to take part in the lecture of a world-renowned scientist - Dr Carlos Garcia-Mateo, a specialist in materials science, particularly in metallurgical research.
The Spanish scientist is an expert in materials science, in particular in the field of physical metallurgy of iron alloys, bainite and nano bainite steels. The scientist has excellent publication results (h=50, Scopus, 8000+ citations).
Dr Carlos Garcia-Mateo is a senior scientist at CENIM-CSIC, specializing in bainite steels with more than 25 years of experience in materials science and metallurgy. He led ground-breaking research at the University of Navarra and Cambridge, developing low-temperature nanostructured bainite steels with a unique combination of strength and ductility.
His scientific activity focuses on: Multi-scale analysis of the microstructure of bainite steels, atomic phase transformation mechanisms, microstructure-properties relationships, and industrial applications of nanostructured bainite steels.
The lecture with the participation of an outstanding guest will be delivered as part of the conference on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering on 26th of May 2025 (Monday), at 16.45 in the online form.
