International Seminar as part of the PROM NAWA Program

From November 17-21 the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Silesian University of Technology hosted a seminar as part of the PROM program – a short-term academic exchange program entitled "Short-Term Academic Exchange as a Way to Improve the Quality of Education in Higher Education and Research Institutions”. The seminar was organized by Vice-Dean for Student’s Affair and Education - Mirosław Bonek, BEng, MSc, DSc, DrHC, Associate Professor.

The seminar provided an opportunity to present projects conducted by Student Research Groups, PhD programs, and teams implementing projects related to project-based learning (PBL) under the Excellence Initiative – Research University program at the Silesian University of Technology, EURECA-PRO projects, and international cooperation under ERASMUS+ and the International Visegrad Foundation.

Fifteen participants from Armenia (Yerevan State University, Yerevan), Brazil (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre), Georgia (Georgian Technical University, Tbilisi), South Africa (Stellenbosch University, Stellenbosch), and Turkey (Gebze Technical University, Gebze) attended classes conducted in the laboratories of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology.

On November 20, 2025, the International Student Scientific Conference TalentDetector2025_Prom was held, featuring the presentation of participants' research results and presentations from foreign universities. Participants enjoyed a rich cultural and social program that helped them learn about Poland and its people. They learned about the history and culture of Silesia through visits to the Historic Silver Mine and tasting regional dishes at the historic Sedlaczek restaurant and winery in Tarnowskie Góry.

The conference materials will be published in the form of a scientific monograph by the Silesian University of Technology Publishing House, which will be available on the website talentdetector.polsl.pl.

The conference was accompanied by the opening of the international student zone FENESTRA AD MUNDUM, where the flags of the countries of foreign scientists and students visiting our Faculty are presented.
