International Invention and Innovation Show INTARG®2026 with participation of the Silesian University of Technology

With the participation of scientists and students of the Silesian University of Technology, the 19th edition of the International Invention and Innovation Show INTARG®2026 takes place at the International Congress Centre in Katowice – one of the most important events devoted to the promotion of innovative solutions, modern technologies and cooperation between the worlds of science and business. The honorary chairman of the International Jury of INTARG®2026 is the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology Prof. Marek Pawełczyk.

As every year, the Silesian University of Technology which acts as the substantive Partner of the show, actively participates in the event. The university presents its research potential, innovative solutions developed by scientists and achievements in the field of cooperation with the socio-economic environment.

As emphasized by Dr Magdalena Letun-Łątka, director of the Centre for Incubation and Technology Transfer of the Silesian University of Technology, participation in the show is not only an opportunity to promote the achievements of the University, but also an opportunity to confront its own achievements with solutions presented by centres from all over the world.

- We show our own solutions, but at the same time we can see what scientists from other universities and research institutes are working on. Such an exchange of experiences is extremely valuable because it inspires to further development and search for new directions of research – emphasizes Dr Eng. Magdalena Letun-Łątka.

- Every year we show more and more projects, and many of them win prestigious awards and distinctions - she adds.

In this year’s edition, the Silesian University of Technology presents nine inventions. In addition to scientists, students associated in science clubs present their activities.

- It is especially important for us that young people are also present. Students increasingly understand how important it is to present their own achievements and actively participate in events that combine science and practice – emphasizes the director of CITT.

The international character of the event also creates space for building new scientific and business partnerships.

– Every model of cooperation is interesting for us – both between science and business, as well as between universities or research institutes. Such contacts very often become the beginning of valuable projects implemented in subsequent years – she adds.

As Patrycja Cecot, President of the INTARG® Show emphasizes, the event has been one of the most important platforms for presenting scientific achievements and modern technologies for years.

- This year we host over a hundred exhibitors representing universities, research institutes, technology companies, startups, and young creators of innovation. Among the participants there are also representatives of countries such as Taiwan, Thailand, Ukraine, or Malaysia, which emphasizes the international character of the event - emphasizes Patrycja Cecot.

The scientists participating in the show emphasize that events such as INTARG® play an important role not only in the promotion of innovative solutions, but also in building relations between the scientific community, business, and potential recipients of new technologies. It is during such meetings that inventors have the opportunity to present the effects of their work to a wider audience and confront their ideas with solutions developed in other research centres – emphasizes Dr Eng. Jarosław Mikuła, who presented the invention “A way of attaching cutting inserts in multi-post tools for rock drilling”.

- Trade shows such as INTARG® give the opportunity to present the results of our research work and popularize new technologies. It is also an opportunity to show what solutions scientists are currently working on and in what directions modern technology is developing – adds Dr Eng. Artur Noga presenting the invention “Three-circuit tuned planar microwave bandwidth filter with increased slope severity.”

Students of the Silesian University of Technology also speak about the importance of participation in the show, stressing that presenting projects to a wide audience is as important as the process of creating them.

– We want to show the results of our work. The project that goes into the drawer does not fulfil its role. That is why we try to present our solutions both during scientific conferences and events such as INTARG®. This is an opportunity for our ideas to be noticed, to find recipients, and in the future, perhaps also partners to implement or commercialize – says Piotr Bartosz, President of the Virtual Flying vFly Student Science Club.

The accompanying event is the Inventions Exchange, during which the creators from the Silesian University of Technology present solutions awarded last year.

The winners will be announced at today’s gala. More information about the Fair on the website: 19. International Invention and Innovation Show INTARG®2026, 2-3 JUNE 2026.
