International exhibition on the occasion of the World Art Day
The Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology is preparing a unique exhibition on the occasion of the World Art Day and invites artists to submit their works.
The exhibition on the occasion of the World Art Day will be prepared in the Gallery X of the Silesian University of Technology from April 12 to May 6, 2024. The vernissage is scheduled for April 15, 2024, at 17:00.
This date is not accidental, because on April 15, 1452, Leonardo da Vinci was born. In connection with this anniversary, during the UNESCO General Conference in November 2019, this day was established as World Art Day. Every year, many galleries and cultural and scientific institutions around the world are involved in the celebration.
The Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology also wants to unite different creative environments in Poland and abroad, which is why it is preparing an exhibition. Visual artists associated with the environment of the Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow and the Association of Polish Visual Artists in Gliwice-Zabrze District, Katowice District, Krakow District, as well as artists from Poland, USA, India, Costa Rica, Germany, Japan, Togo, Mongolia, Canada, Turkey, Romania, Slovakia and the Czech Republic were invited to present their works.
Every artist who would like to submit their works to the exhibition is obliged to send a good quality photograph of the work (enabling publication of the work in the catalogue) together with a description of the work (title, technique, dimension, year of creation) to the following e-mail address: zpap.gliwice@onet.pl (for members of ZPAP Gliwice-Zabrze District) or iwakruczkowska@wp.pl (for non-affiliated artists and foreign guests) by the deadline of 15 March 2024.
Sending the work to the e-mail address is tantamount to submitting it to the exhibition and granting consent for free reproduction of works in the exhibition catalogue, in the media and on websites, which constitute a report from the event or its promotion. At the same time, each participant of the exhibition, by submitting a work, agrees to the publication of the image and personal data (name and surname) in all media materials related to the exhibition on the occasion of the World Art Day. Works for the exhibition should be prepared for the exhibition (framed, or with hooks or other system enabling efficient hanging).
The work should not exceed 100x70 cm. Multi-module works, triptychs and other works consisting of many elements will not be accepted for the exhibition (for technical reasons).
You can submit works in techniques such as photography, painting, graphics, digital graphics, drawing, unique fabric, paper, collage, designs presented in the form of boards - bas-relief or other object allowing exposure on the wall. For safety reasons, the organizers do not provide for the possibility of showing sculptures that do not have stands for exhibition.
The works for the exhibition should be delivered on 8-9 April 2024 to the X building of the X Faculty of Architecture gallery, at 10, Księdza Marcina Strzody Street in Gliwice.
