International Easter Meeting
As every year before the upcoming Easter, students from all over the world met with the University authorities and employees at the “Spiral” Student Club to sit at the common Easter table. They are thousands of kilometres away from their homes and families, which is why the Silesian University of Technology makes sure that, especially during family holidays, they feel at home.
Traditionally, during the international Easter meeting, everyone decorated Easter tables together, prepared baskets and decorated Easter eggs. There were also competitions and quizzes about Polish holiday customs and traditions and, as usual, attractive prizes for winners. Foreign language teachers, who teach Polish to foreign students on a daily basis, took care that during the Easter meeting they memorised a few Polish phrases or words. The participants could also enjoy Easter dishes such as soup or cheesecake. As usual, they added humour, and the atmosphere was full of kindness and laughter.
This was already the 6th International Easter Meeting, which was organized by the Foreign Languages Centre in cooperation with the Studies Service Centre and the International Relations Office - International Mobility Office.
