Inauguration of the New Academic Year at the Silesian University of Technology
The inauguration of the Academic Year at the Silesian University of Technology will take place on October 2nd, 2024. During the event, a speech by the Rector of the University Prof Marek Pawełczyk, inaugural lecture and matriculation of the first-year students will take place.
The inauguration, with the participation of the University authorities, will start at 11:00 in the Education and Congress Centre of the Silesian University of Technology.

During the ceremony Tomasz Gębka, Member of the Board of FCA Poland, Plant Manager - Tychy Vehicle Plant at Stellantis, a graduate of our University, will give an inaugural lecture entitled: ‘How a graduate of the Silesian University of Technology became a director of a global concern’.
After the ceremony inaugurating the new academic year, Prof. Marek Pawełczyk, Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, will sign a cooperation agreement with the President of the Management Board of LOT Polish Airlines Michał Fijoł. The Polish air carrier, one of the oldest active airlines in the world, and our University, declare their willingness to cooperate in teaching, research and organization with a view to educating high-ranking aviation specialists and solving problems important for aviation.

In the afternoon, at 18.00, in the Cathedral of St. Apostles Peter and Paul in Gliwice, a Holy Mass will be held for employees and students of the Silesian University of Technology.
