Inauguration of the academic year 2026/2027 at the Silesian University of Technology
On October the 2nd, 2026, the inauguration of the new academic year at the Silesian University of Technology will take place. The ceremonial inauguration will begin at 11.00 at the Education and Congress Centre of the Silesian University of Technology at 22B, Konarskiego Street in Gliwice.
The program of the ceremony includes, among others, the inaugural speech of the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology Prof. Marek Pawełczyk, matriculation of new students and speeches of invited guests.
The ceremony will be graced by the inaugural lecture entitled “What will we do in space in 5, 10, 30 years and what your role in it will be?”, which will be given by Artur B. Chmielewski, space mission manager associated with NASA/Caltech/JPL.
On the same day at 16.00 in the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul Cathedral in Gliwice, a Holy Mass in the intention of employees, PhD students and students of the Silesian University of Technology will be celebrated.
