Students from the High Flyers science club of the Silesian University of Technology took third place twice in the Droniada Challenge tournament, which was held on the Champs de Mars in the Silesian Park from June 3rd to 9th.
Droniada Challenge is a technology competition, one of the most difficult in the world, combining computer science, mechatronics and robotics with aviation. This year, the competition took place throughout the entire week.
- Task scenarios in Droniada are based on situations that may occur in reality, in which drones can provide real support to people. The ability to quickly react to situations that happen to students during competition and cope with tasks will be able to be used with confidence in the future - explains Sławomir Kosieliński, president of the Instytut Mikromakro Foundation and the originator of Droniada.
High Flyers are veterans of Droniada. They have been in it since the beginning - since 2014. In the eleventh edition of the event, they took third place in the Martian Mines and Relay competitions, for which they won a prize of PLN 1,500.
