Guest lecture by Prof. Gianni Ciofani
The Centre for Organic and Nanohybrid Electronics invites all interested to a lecture by Prof. Gianni Ciofani (Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, Smart Bio-Interfaces, Pontedera, Italy).
The meeting will take place on Friday, April 26th, at 11:00 in Auditorium A of The Centre for New Technologies The lecture is titled: “Tuning Cellular Functions through Smart Nanomaterials.”
Prof. Gianni Ciofani is the head of the Smart Bio-Interfaces Research Unit and the Coordinator of the Centre for Materials Interfaces. His main research interests concern intelligent nanomaterials for nanomedicine, micro physiology systems and nanomedicine under altered gravitational conditions. Prof. Ciofani is the coordinator/manager of numerous scientific projects, including the ERC Starting Grant and three ERC Proof-of-Concept Grants. Thanks to grants from the Italian Space Agency and the European Space Agency, he had the opportunity to conduct experiments on board the International Space Station.
Prof. Gianni Ciofani is the author of more than 190 articles in international journals (Scopus H-index 52), editor of three books and author of eighteen chapters, and has given about seventy invited lectures. He serves as a reviewer in many funding agencies, among others The Swiss National Science Foundation, French National Research Agency, National Science Centre of Poland.
The organizer of the visit is the Centre for Organic and Nanohybrid Electronics. The visit was co-financed as part of the implementation of the task in the pro-quality program regarding investment in the development of internationalization from the funds of the Excellence Initiative - Research University program.
