Great success of our students in the XIX Mining Knowledge Tournament

We are pleased to announce that students of the Silesian University of Technology have once again been successful in the XIX Mining Knowledge Tournament, which took place on February 25th, 2025, as part of this year's edition of the School of Underground Exploitation.

The 19th Mining Knowledge Tournament is an opportunity to verify mining knowledge. The winners of this competition enjoy prestige and recognition in the environment and thus open the door to a professional career.

This year, the podium belonged to representatives of the Silesian University of Technology. The first place was won by Jan Kaźmierczak, who proved how perfectly he combines practical knowledge with professional experience. On a daily basis, the winner is a student of Geoengineering and Resource Exploitation. A good result in the competition was also obtained by Paweł Malcherczyk, a student of the same faculty, who after an extra time won on the third place of the podium.

The competition covered a number of mining issues, including ventilation, rock structure mechanics and mining technology.

The winners received the awards during the gala of the XXXIV School of Underground Exploitation in the Juliusz Slowacki Theatre.
