Gala of the best secondary comprehensive and vocational schools of the Silesian Voivodeship
The Education and Congress Centre hosted a gala of awarding prizes to the best secondary comprehensive and vocational schools in Perspektywy 2026 ranking. During the event, diplomas were awarded to 27 of the best secondary schools in the Silesian Voivodeship.
The Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Prof. Marek Gzik, the authorities of the Silesian University of Technology, representatives of the Perspektywy Education Foundation, local government, Silesian Education Curator and directors and pupils of the awarded schools were present at the ceremony.
During the gala, the Deputy Minister congratulated the pupils, teachers and school management on the successes achieved. The event was held in a unique setting – during the Open Days of the Silesian University of Technology, one of the ten best universities in Poland and a research university of particular importance for the development of science and innovation.
In his speech, the Deputy Minister emphasized that the presence of the awarded schools at the gala is the result of many years of systematic work, determination and passion of both pupils and teachers. He pointed out that the success of young people is also a result of the involvement of entire pedagogical teams and good organization of the work of schools.
As he noted, it is particularly pleasing that among the distinguished secondary schools in Poland, such a large group consists of institutions from the Silesian Voivodeship.
- It is a great success to be among the best secondary comprehensive and vocational schools of the Silesian Voivodeship and among the best secondary schools in Poland. At the same time, it is a commitment to further development and raising the level of education - he noted.
At the end, the Deputy Minister also thanked the Perspektywy Foundation for organizing one of the most important educational rankings in the country. He emphasized that the amount of work put into the analysis of numerous indicators and data makes the results of the rankings reliable and enjoys great trust of the educational environment.
- For the Silesian University of Technology, it is an honour to host directors, teachers, and pupils of the best schools of the Silesian Voivodeship during this gala – said the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology. Prof. Marek Pawełczyk emphasized that the gala is not only an opportunity to congratulate the young people on their previous successes, commitment, and passion. It is also the moment when the University can present its constantly developing educational offer, adapted to the needs of the modern economy. In this way, we want to encourage students to continue their education at the Silesian University of Technology - emphasized the Rector.
- This is a unique opportunity for us to meet young people who are already achieving excellent results and showing great potential. We want to invite these young people to get to know our University from the inside – laboratories, research teams and academia – and show that the Silesian University of Technology is an open place where they can develop their passions, implement ambitious projects and prepare for a future professional career – added the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education Prof. Anna Chrobok.
Bartosz Stawiasz, Operational Director of Perspektywy Press, emphasized the importance of the gala organized at the Silesian University of Technology.
– It is a great honour for us to host the best secondary comprehensive and vocational schools of the Silesian Voivodeship right here. Silesian University of Technology is a well-established university that gives young people the opportunity to learn at the highest level. The Perspektywy Ranking, which has been organised for 28 years, is based on objective data – the results of Matura exams, achievements in the Olympics and information from educational systems. Thanks to this, it is a reliable guide for young people when choosing a secondary school and future studies, and for the best pupils it is an incentive to develop toward a dream career – emphasized Bartosz Stawiasz.
As the chairman of the board of the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis, Kazimierz Karolczak, pointed out, the gala is a great celebration of pupils and teachers of the awarded schools.
– This is your celebration. The successes you have achieved are not just numbers, but the tangible result of hundreds or even thousands of hours of hard work. I congratulate both young people, as well as the school directors and pedagogical groups, which together have led to such great results - said President Karolczak.
