Foundation for Polish Science scholarships for our scientists

Young scientists from the Silesian University of Technology have been awarded START scholarships, as part of the competition of the Foundation for Polish Science for 2025. Anna Blacha from the Faculty of Chemistry and Seyedkeivan Nateghi from the Faculty of Energy and Environmental Engineering were appreciated for their outstanding achievements.

Yet another edition of the competition for START scholarships of the Foundation for Polish Science has been decided. The scholarship is a distinction that goes to the most talented young scientists. The aim of the award is to encourage them to further their scientific development by enabling them to devote their full commitment to research work. The scholarship goes to young researchers up to the age of 30. This year, two representatives from the Silesian University of Technology were among the outstanding hundreds of candidates from all over Poland. Anna Blacha from the Faculty of Chemistry and Seyedkeivan Nateghi from the Faculty of Energy and Environmental Engineering.

The gala, during which the awards were presented, took place on Saturday, 14 June 2025 at the Royal Castle in Warsaw.

As we read on the website of the organizers, this year’s hundred winners and laureates were selected from among 725 candidates through a multi-stage competition in which the quality of their previous scientific achievements was assessed. Among the winners this year, the largest number of researchers and researchers represent biological, medical and Earth sciences.
