FameLab – a competition for young scientists and PhD students
As part of the celebrations of the European City of Science Katowice 2024, the University of Silesia organizes the Polish edition of the FameLab competition, addressed to doctoral students and young scientists (until 35 year of age).
The call for applications will last until May 15th, 2024.
FameLab is the world’s largest science communication competition. The idea of the competition is to popularize science and present complex scientific issues in an understandable way.
The task of the participants is to present in English a scientific topic of their choice to the audience within three minutes. The use of multimedia presentation is forbidden – on the FameLab stage, only the participants and their ability to fascinate the audience count. Speeches are evaluated in three categories – content, clarity of message and charisma of the participant (so-called 3C rule – content, clarity, charisma).
The FameLab competition is aimed at young scientists and PhD students aged 24 to 35 years. More information at: https://us.edu.pl/famelab-konkurs-dla-mlodych-naukowcow-i-doktorantow/.
