The exhibition "Silesia Project: “Architecture" presents selected works of students of the Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology, showing cross-sectionally what scientific and didactic issues are dealt with by the five departments of this faculty, starting from urban planning, through the history of architecture, works of art, residential and service architecture designs, and even space exploration issues.
The exhibition presents graphic designs on boards, models of spatial compositions, models of single-family houses, service facilities, models of historical buildings and sculptures.
- The aim of the exhibition is to popularize the scientific and didactic achievements of the Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology, which has very high ratings in the country and abroad. The Silesia City Center shopping centre, as one of the largest in the region, is a perfect place to present architectural art to the residents of Katowice and the entire Silesian, Lesser Poland agglomerations and other regions of the country - said dr Eng. arch. Jerzy Wojewódka, prof. SUT.
The exhibition "Silesia Project: “Architecture" can be seen at Plac Śląski in Silesia until October 21 from 10.00 to 21.00. As part of the cooperation, Silesia City Center not only provided the space where the exhibits were presented, but also took care of the arrangement of the space and communication of the event.
This exhibition is a perfect example of cooperation between an academic centre and a commercial facility. Observing the interest in the exhibition among people visiting Silesia, it can be concluded that this type of activities is extremely important for the development of education and the popularization of science and art.
