A decisive victory, an additional prize and lots of congratulations - the students of our University from the Silesian Greenpower team did an excellent job in the fifth round of the Formula F24+ race at the Predannack Airfield track in England, taking the first and second place.
“We are extremely happy," says Prof. dr hab. Eng. Andrzej Baier, coordinator of the Silesian Greenpower project. - We won decisively, by a large margin, so after the race many people from other teams came up to us with congratulations and questions about how we were driving so fast and so well. In addition, we received a special award from Siemens for the preparation of documentation.
Let us remind you that Silesian Greenpower takes part in F24+ races. This is a category in which the driver can be up to 26 years old. All cars are built with the same motors, powered by 240 W direct current. They also have the same batteries with a capacity of 36 Ah. The race lasts 60 minutes. The team that completes the most laps within that time wins.
This season, our team started the competition at the end of April at the Goodwood track in England, where it finished eleventh (SGR 2020 car) and fourteenth (Bullet III car). A few days later he was much better. At the East Fortune circuit in Scotland, our cars dominated the race, finishing first (2020 SGR) and second (Bullet III).
