Engineering Katowice! Meet us on the 23rd of October
How does engineering change our everyday lives? How are innovative solutions created and what are modern scientists working on? The answers to these questions will be available during the Katowice Engineering event, organized by the Silesian University of Technology in cooperation with the city of Katowice.
On October 23rd, 2026, from 10.00 to 16.00 four faculties of the Silesian University of Technology will invite the inhabitants of Katowice and the region to discover the fascinating world of modern engineering. In the place where the Silesian University of Technology faculties are located, at 8, Zygmunta Krasińskiego Street in Katowice, science, technology, and engineering enthusiasts will meet.
“Engineering Katowice” is an event during which the Silesian University of Technology will invite the inhabitants of Katowice and the region to explore the fascinating world of modern engineering. It will be an opportunity to see modern technologies in action, take a look into the world of science, meet scientists and students, and see how the solutions developed at the university affect our daily lives.

We invite you to a unique event dedicated to technology, where you will learn about the fascinating world of transport from the inside. Among the stands of the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering you will find shows of historic and sports vehicles, roll-overs, locomotives, and glider flight simulators, as well as workshops on assessment of traffic conditions and planning experiments in transport systems. It is a great opportunity to see who makes transportation system work, and to get acquainted with modern technologies and research on transport systems.
The Faculty of Materials Engineering and Industry Digitization invites you to the world of modern materials, advanced manufacturing technologies, automation, and digitization of industry. During the event, visitors will be able to observe chemical experiments, learn the secrets of metals, plastics and ceramics, discover the applications of 3D printing, and learn how modern industrial enterprises operate. There will also be attractions related to robotics and the opportunity to meet representatives of industrial companies.
We invite you to the workshops of the Faculty of Architecture related to design arts. There will be workshops covering material preparation, forming, modelling and
decorating techniques of ceramic products: plates, tiles, small sculptural figures and artistic workshops entitled: “The City of Dreams,” during which the participants will jointly design an alternative version of the city of Katowice, creating an urban and architectural plan of districts that they know, like, or would like to transform and improve.
At the stands of the Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science you will learn about the world of electronics, 3D printing, virtual reality and modern technologies created also by students. Interactive games, competitions, scientific experiments, and student project shows wait for the participants. On stage, they will listen to fascinating stories about innovative inventions, as well as a concert of the Core Dump band, made up by the faculty’s scientists.
