Monday full of events
A family picnic promoting road safety, concerts for seniors in Mrowisko and free preventive tests - Monday, March 25th, is full of events at the Silesian University of Technology. All of them are held under the patronage of Jakub Chełstowski, Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship, and prof. Arkadiusz Mężyk, Rector of the Silesian University of Technology.
At the Faculty of Civil Engineering from the side of Akademicka Street, a traffic town, a bicycle obstacle course, as well as preventive stations of the Provincial Headquarters of the State Fire Service, the Municipal Police Headquarters in Gliwice, the Provincial Road Transport Inspectorate and the Emergency Notification Centre in Katowice will be built. The family picnic will last from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The organizers invite you to see demonstrations of how to cut a vehicle and extract an injured person, and there will also be rollover, collision and motorcycle driving simulators. Those interested will be able to check their reaction time using specialized equipment and try riding an electric scooter or take part in competitions for people of all ages. All this to promote safe behaviour on the road.
In turn, in Mrowisko, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., seniors will be able to take advantage of free preventive tests and then have some entertainment. At 4:00 p.m., as part of the "Concert for Seniors" campaign, Czesław Majewski & Janusz Tylman, Singing Pianos, a duo that perfectly combines classical music with anecdote and humour will perform. At 7:00 p.m., Karo Glazer, a jazz singer and composer, who studied at the Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology before choosing a musical career, will perform a concert.
Both concerts are free of charge, tickets can be collected at the Mrowisko Student Culture Centre.
