Stock Exchange School at the Silesian University of Technology

Would you like to invest in the stock market, but you don't know how it all works? Are you afraid of failure? It is obvious! We will show you how to invest from scratch!

In the second half of 2018, the Faculty of Organization and Management of the Silesian University of Technology signed an agreement with the Foundation of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, under which an educational program called "Szkoła Giełdowa” (Stock Exchange School) is conducted. The aim of the Stock Exchange School is to educate the general public in the field of trading in securities and other financial instruments, carried out by universities and colleges in the form of courses organized in cooperation with the GPW Foundation.

Two courses are currently organized within the Stock Exchange School:

  • STOCK EXCHANGE INVESTING FUNDAMENTALS (basic level),
  • STOCK EXCHANGE FOR INTERMEDIATE INVESTORS (intermediate level).

Each course includes 5 lectures (14 hours) conducted by university lecturers, practitioners and experts in the field of financial instruments and markets. Classes are conducted on weekends. Participants receive professional information materials prepared by the Warsaw Stock Exchange Foundation and a course completion certificate.

The "STOCK EXCHANGE INVESTING FUNDAMENTALS " course covers the key and most practical issues for beginner stock market investors. The principles of the functioning of the exchange and the course of the trading session are discussed in detail. Economic factors affecting the stock exchange, both domestic and foreign, are also presented.
The lectures provide information on the principles of investing, selection and evaluation of companies, the use of financial information and the principles of managing a securities portfolio.

The "STOCK EXCHANGE FOR INTERMEDIATE INVESTORS " course is intended for people with basic knowledge of the stock market and for practicing investors. The course helps to systematize and deepen knowledge about derivatives - options and futures available on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, as well as turbo certificates. The course also covers issues such as: fundamental analysis (including case studies of companies from selected industries), technical analysis, as well as advanced issues related to the functioning of the stock exchange and the impact of the economic environment on the WSE.

Cost of the course: STOCK EXCHANGE INVESTING FUNDAMENTALS (PLN 450) and STOCK EXCHANGE FOR INTERMEDIATE INVESTORS (PLN 500). There is a 10% discount when registering for two courses.
