Eight hundred donuts for the 80th anniversary of the Silesian University of Technology. A crowd of students had tea with the Rector.
There has never been such an event at the Silesian University of Technology. Today the students ate eight hundred donuts on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Silesian University of Technology and they could talk in person with the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. Marek Pawełczyk and Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. Anna Chrobok, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education.
A crowd of students gathered today at 12.00 in the main hall of the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering, and Industrial Automation in Gliwice. All on the occasion of the event “800 donuts for the 80th anniversary of the Silesian University of Technology”. Let us remind you that the Silesian University of Technology inaugurated its 80th year of activity in October.
The authorities of the Silesian University of Technology decided to celebrate this round jubilee in an unusual way.
“I am so impressed that such a crowd came to the meeting. It was a really nice afternoon. In fifty minutes, we gave out eight hundred donuts. There was an opportunity to talk, take a photo together, and all this in a very nice atmosphere. It is important to organize integration meetings like this. I think that we will want to repeat such actions” – said the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. Marek Pawełczyk.
In addition to enjoying donuts and autumn tea, students could listen to live music and take part in a quiz about the Silesian University of Technology.
“We wanted to meet our students so that they would know what the Rector and Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education look like and that they could turn to us for help if they needed it. We want to open a dialog with them today, listen to their needs and educate smart citizens who understand the problems of the modern world” – added the Vice-Rector Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. Anna Chrobok.
The students welcomed this gesture with great enthusiasm. For many, this was the first opportunity to get to know the university authorities.
- “You can see from the turnout that such actions bring a lot of joy. We also invite students of other campuses to take advantage of this unique opportunity to get to know the authorities of the Silesian University of Technology” – encouraged Dawid Mordarski, chairman of the Student Council of the Silesian University of Technology.
A similar event will take place on the 27th of November at 12:00 at the main entrance in the Silesian University of Technology building in Katowice at 8, Krasińskiego Street and on the 4th of December at 12:00 in the main hall in EHTIC in Zabrze.
