Dr Małgorzata Włodarczyk-Biegun - a finalist of the of Polityka's Science Awards
Dr Małgorzata Włodarczyk-Biegun from the Biotechnology Centre of the Silesian University of Technology was among the fifteen finalists of the 22nd edition of Polityka's Science Awards.
Results will be announced on October 16th 2022.
The scientist became a finalist in the Science category.
Dr Włodarczyk-Biegun deals with 3D printing in applications for the regeneration of various tissues, mainly hard and soft tissue connections, i.e. muscles and bones or bones and ligaments.
- “I am glad that the field I deal with, i.e. biomedical engineering and 3D bio-printing, has been appreciated and will be further promoted. Secondly, it is a great honour that my work and that of my colleagues have been noticed. It is also a great commitment to further develop scientifically and develop new solutions that will be useful to other people and find real clinical applications.” – she said.
The scholarship holders and award winners will be announced on October 16th 2022.
Since 2001, the Tygodnik Polityka Foundation has been running a scholarship program for young scientists called “Stay with us!”. The prizes are awarded in five categories: humanities, social sciences, life sciences, exact sciences, and technical sciences.
This is another distinction recently awarded to Dr Małgorzata Włodarczyk-Biegun. Recently, she received a scholarship from the Minister of Education and Science for outstanding young scientists.
