Dr Hab. Eng. Anna Janina Dolata, Prof. SUT, is the president of PTMK (Polish Society of Composite Materials)

On June 5-7, 2024, the 26th Scientific Symposium "Composites - Theory and Practice" was held in Brenna, organized by the Polish Society of Composite Materials with the participation of the Committee of Materials Science and Metallurgy of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Faculty of Materials Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology. During the event,  Dr Hab. Eng. Anna Janina Dolata, Prof. SUT was elected the president of PTMK.

The conference was attended by seventy-nine participants - representatives of important scientific units active in the field of composite materials from all over Poland, as well as scientists from the Technical University of Dresden and industry representatives. During seven thematic sessions in the area of metal, polymer and ceramic composites (including one in English), 35 papers were delivered, and 32 posters were presented. The presentations and posters were assessed by the competition committee, chaired by Prof. Dr Eng. Dariusz Oleszak.

As part of the conference, the 12th Ordinary General Meeting of PTMK was held, during which the new Management Board of the Polish Society of Composite Materials and the composition of the Audit Committee for the next term of office were elected. The president of the new management board remains Dr Hab. Eng. Anna Janina Dolata, Prof. SUT. The members of the current PTMK management board include a total of five employees of the Faculty of Materials Engineering at Silesian University of Technology.
