Dr Eng. Tomasz Jarosz in the Polish Committee for Standardization

Dr Eng. Tomasz Jarosz, an employee of the Department of Physical Chemistry and Technology of Polymers at the Faculty of Chemistry of the Silesian University of Technology, was elected chairman of Technical Committee No. 12 and a member of the Sector Council at the Chemistry Sector in the Polish Committee for Standardization.

The Polish Committee for Standardization (PKN) is the national standardization body responsible for organizing standardization activities. PKN is not a government administration body, it is a public law entity. It operates under the Act of September 12, 2002, on standardization. PKN is an impartial organization and independent of any interest group, and standardization work is carried out by Technical Bodies (OT) operating at PKN. PKN enables all communities interested in standardization to participate in the work of individual OTs: Technical Committees (KT), Task Committees (KZ) and Technical Subcommittees (PK).

Technical Committee (KT) No. 12 conducts standardization activities in the thematic scope covering explosives, pyrotechnic products, ammunition for civilian purposes, matches and test methods for these groups of materials. The members of KT 12 are the largest domestic producers of high-energy materials and leading scientific units conducting research and development activities in this field.
