Dr Eng. Olena Pavliuk from the Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science of the Silesian University of Technology and Dr Eng. Serhiy Shcherbovskykh from the State Academy of Applied Sciences in Jarosław are the winners of the 28th edition of the competition for the Siemens and Warsaw University of Technology Prize.
Dr Eng. Olena Pavliuk from the Silesian University of Technology and Dr Eng. Serhiy Shcherbovskykh from the State Academy of Applied Sciences in Jarosław (also associated with the Lviv Polytechnic) received a prize of PLN 20 thousand for the first place. The jury awarded them for the project “Methods and Means of Intelligent Management of AGV Vehicles Based on The Recognition of The Activities of Industrial Personnel.”
During the event, five teams presented their projects that fit into the slogan of the competition: “Sustainable Industry Through Digital Transformation and Green Technologies.” Their ideas were to use Industry 4.0 solutions, such as big data, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things, to help companies make their operations more environmentally friendly. When selecting the winners, the description of the concept, convergence with the thematic area of the competition and implementation potential were taken into account. Presentations prepared by finalists and diversity of teams were also evaluated.
