Dr Eng. Marcin Górski, Prof. SUT is the Vice-Chairman of the Executive Board of the EURECA-PRO consortium

The Executive Board of the European University EURECA-PRO, its highest executive body, has new authorities. Dr Cornelius Hagenmeier has been appointed chairman, and Prof.  Marcin Górski became the vice-chairman. This choice is an expression of appreciation for the previous involvement of the Silesian University of Technology in building the alliance.

The Executive Board is the highest executive body of EURECA-PRO responsible for day-to-day management of the consortium, coordination of its activities and supervision of the implementation of the strategic objectives set out in Vision 2040. Its key tasks include ensuring effective implementation of projects, monitoring tasks entrusted to partners and ensuring consistency of the activities of nine partner universities. It acts as a key operational body ensuring the harmonization of processes and the integration of activities at program level. The new Executive Board was elected for a two-year term.

- I would like to thank the EURECA-PRO Alliance partners for their trust. It is an honour and a commitment to our society, which is composed of 125 000 students and 20 000 employees from eight countries in Europe, - says Dr Eng. Marcin Górski, Prof. SUT, Director of the Project Management Centre and Coordinator of the European University EURECA-PRO at the Silesian University of Technology. - After five years of joint activities, we are entering a strategic moment of transition from the project phase to the institutional phase. We are facing the ambitious task of creating sustainable, international organizational structures – encompassing both legal frameworks and administrative solutions – that will allow this unprecedented institution to function on multiple campuses simultaneously- added Prof. Górski.  He also thanked his predecessors - Prof. Carsten Drebenstedt and Prof. Roberto Baelo for building the solid foundations on which EURECA-PRO develops its position as a European leader in sustainable development.

The activities of the newly elected Board will continue to focus on the UN Sustainable Development Goals, in particular SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and SDG 4 (Quality Education).
