Dr Eng. Adrian Kapczyński from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics of the Silesian University of Technology - as a panellist - will take part in the 4th Cybersecurity Forum, which will take place as part of the XXXI Economic Forum in Karpacz.
The scientist will take part in a panel on cybersecurity in local government units.
As emphasized by Dr. Kapczyński, the improvement of information security management systems requires constant improvement. - “Cybercriminals take advantage of the vulnerabilities of local government units, therefore it is necessary to implement effective methods, techniques, procedures and systems of protection both in the technical and non-technical sphere” - he said.
- “As part of the Silesian University of Technology, I have the honour to coordinate the research sub-area “Cybersecurity” and I know very well how much potential we have. This potential can also be used for the substantive support of local government units in the area in question. In addition, in the structures of our University there is a Cybersecurity Centre, whose experts can prepare and present recommendations on good practices in the field of cybersecurity for a specific local government unit” - said the researcher.
Dr Eng. Kapczyński also reminded that the Silesian University of Technology together with the University of Silesia, the University of Economics in Katowice and the National Research Institute NASK - forms the Cyber Science consortium. This consortium (since this October) is launching two fields of postgraduate education.
