Dr Eng. Adam Józefiok, Prof. SUT, is the winner of the competition of the Polish Information Processing Society
Dr Eng. Adam Józefiok, Prof. SUT, from the Department of Computer Networks and Systems of the Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science of the Silesian University of Technology is the laureate of the prestigious competition of the Polish Information Processing Society for the best “Information Technology Book of the Year.”
The Polish Information Processing Society, (PIPS) is the most important scientific and technical organization associating IT professionals in Poland. For years, it has been promoting the development of computer science, supporting education, and distinguishing the most valuable scientific and popularizing achievements in this field. The competition for the best IT book is one of the most prestigious awards granted to authors of publications in the field of new technologies, computer science, and cybersecurity.
During a gala organized by the PIPS as part of the World Information Society Day celebrations, awards were presented in the competition for the best IT book of the year. The event was held with the participation of representatives of the scientific community, the IT industry and organizations related to new technologies.
Among the winners was Prof. Adam Józefiok from the Silesian University of Technology, specializing in computer networks and ICT security. Two publications by the author published by Helion were distinguished: ‘CCNP 300-410 ENARSI. Advanced Enterprise Network Administration and Network Security" and "Become a Network Engineer. 100 questions for the future network engineer.”
Both books are practical compendia of knowledge for students, network administrators and people preparing for work and certification in the area of modern network technologies. The publications combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience of the author gained in both scientific and implementation activities.
Prof. Adam Józefiok has been conducting didactic activity and popularizing knowledge for years. He specializes in computer networks (switching, routing, security, and design). He is the author of Polish and foreign publications in this field. He participated in scientific conferences (national and international) concerning computer networks. On a daily basis, he also administers the security of network devices, configures, among others, network devices (Cisco, HP), maintains WAN networks. For 7 years he managed the IT service support unit.
He has many years of experience working as a network administrator and a network designer. Over the years he designed server rooms and created wiring projects. He created procedures and project documentation. He has many completed projects in the field of purchasing IT equipment along with conducting tender procedures, implementation, documentation, and tests. He has numerous certificates confirming his knowledge and skills.
