Develop the competencies of the future and learn more effectively – sign up for free workshops for students
Silesian University of Technology is implementing the project “Together to the diploma – Silesian University of Technology supports students,” which aims to provide comprehensive support to students and increase the effectiveness of the education process. The initiative includes activities aimed, among others, at reducing the phenomenon of resignation from studies, better matching the forms of education to the needs of students, and strengthening their preparation for entering the labour market.
We invite students to participate in two practical workshops supporting the development of competences necessary both during studies and in future professional careers. The classes were prepared in response to the needs of students related to the growing number of academic duties and the requirements of the modern labour market.
The first workshop – “Strengthening Key Competences: Individual and Collaborative” – focuses on developing personal and social competences. The participants will work on practical examples, perform tasks, and gain experience to better manage themselves, cooperate in a team and effectively cope with stress or procrastination. The program, based on the conclusions of The Future of Jobs Report, includes the development of analytical and critical thinking, creativity, communication, leadership, and effective collaboration.
The second workshop – “Improvement of Learning Techniques in the Competence Based Education (CBE) model” – is devoted to modern learning methods. Participants will learn and test different techniques of memorization, analysis and synthesis of information and develop their own learning strategies. Special emphasis will be placed on individualization of the learning process and conscious development planning.
Both trainings are workshop-oriented and take place in small groups (up to 15 people), which allows individual approach and active work. Each workshop includes 4 teaching hours of classes conducted by experienced teaching staff.
This is an excellent opportunity to acquire practical tools supporting learning, personal development and competences valued by employers.
Registration will be launched in the USOSweb system on the 9th of June 2026 from 18:15 to the 12th of June 2026 until 9:00.
Registration will be available in the tab: Students → Registration for subjects.
The number of places is limited – the order of applications decides about participation.
