Cooperation of the Silesian University of Technology with the Sheet Rolling Mill “Batory”
The Silesian University of Technology has signed an agreement with the Sheet Rolling Mill “Batory” Under the agreement, joint research projects, internships and apprenticeships for students will be implemented. In addition, Sheet Rolling Mill Batory will take over the patronage of the field of study Mechanics and Machine Construction at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
The agreement was signed on March 31st, 2023, by the Rector of the University, prof. Arkadiusz Mężyk and Bogusława Niewęgłowska, president of Walcownia Blach Batory sp. z o. o. (Sheet Rolling Mill “Batory”) The authorities of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering were represented by dr hab. Eng. Damian Gąsiorek, prof. SUT, Vice-Dean for Cooperation and Development. On behalf of Sheet Rolling Mill “Batory”, the meeting was attended by Wojciech Chlebisz, production and technical director (graduate of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology), Jarosław Jagiełło, financial director (graduate of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics of the Silesian University of Technology) and Urszula Maciąg, marketing coordinator.
– Partnership with science is very important to us, and the Silesian University of Technology is one of the largest and most prestigious technical universities in Poland. We are proud to be able to cooperate with such specialists. I believe that this cooperation can improve the quality of our products and strengthen our position on the market. We are happy with the cooperation - said Bogusława Niewęgłowska, President of the Management Board of Walcownia Blach Batory sp. z o. o.
The signed agreement also provides for the patronage of Sheet Rolling Mill “Batory” for the field of study of Mechanics and Machine Construction at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Joint work with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering has been going on for several months. The participants of the meeting expressed the belief that they have many research and development projects ahead of them, which will bring positive results. The exchange of experience and knowledge of practitioners with scientists and students of the University will provide benefits for both parties.
Sheet Rolling Mill “Batory” as a company will also actively support scientists and students in implementing their ideas as well as organize apprenticeships and internships for students of the Silesian University of Technology to enable them to gain experience.
This is the first contract of Sheet Rolling Mill “Batory” with the Silesian University of Technology.
