Cooperation of the Silesian University of Technology with the Central Transport Hub
The Central Transport Hub and Silesian University of Technology have signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of scientific and didactic activities. It will contribute to the training of future staff for the CPK (Central Transport Hub) in the following fields: mechanics and aviation operation, air navigation, operation of railway vehicles or transport IT systems.
The agreement was signed by the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, Prof. Marek Pawełczyk and Dr Filip Czernicki, the President of the CPK. Thanks to the agreement, the scientists will contribute to many areas of the CPK project, including the development of High-Speed Rail (KDP) and the Integrated Railway Network (ZSK).

- The Central Transport Hub is one of the largest projects in our country. It is not only aviation infrastructure, but also railway, road, civil engineering, and logistics. In each of these areas Silesian University of Technology has a lot of experience, because we have been dealing with these issues for many years We have excellent experts, our students are also very interested in such partnership. I am very much looking forward to strengthening the relations between the Silesian University of Technology and the Central Transport Hub and establishing new forms of cooperation – said Prof. Marek Pawełczyk, the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology.
The cooperation will take place in both the scientific and didactic area.
- CPK is a development program spread over many years The design and construction of an airport and high-speed railway cannot take place without a strong engineering background. Therefore, cooperation with the Silesian University of Technology is an investment in staff at the highest level. We need educated engineers to develop the transport network, among others in the Upper Silesia region – says Dr Filip Czernicki, President of the CPK.

The CPK program is a challenge of unprecedented scale and scope. Its implementation requires active inclusion of the scientific community, which at the same time creates a unique opportunity for science to implement research conducted on a daily basis within the walls of the university. The synergy resulting from the cooperation of the CPK with universities and research units will bring significant benefits to all involved entities.
The agreement signed with the Silesian University of Technology is another one concerning the training of personnel, which has been signed by the CPK in recent months. The CPK, anticipating future needs, actively creates the basis for acquiring specialized personnel in many areas. Due to the long-term process of education, investment in future specialists is crucial today.
