Cooperation between the Silesian University of Technology and the University of Wolverhampton
On March 31st , 2023, the Silesian University of Technology signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Wolverhampton. The signing of the agreement is the culmination of the already existing cooperation of scientists from both universities: dr Michael Gerges, Associate Dean Recruitment and International Faculty of Science & Engineering with prof. Marek Salamak from the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology. This cooperation is developing mainly in the area of joint scientific publications.
Dr Michael Gerges visited Silesian University of Technology for the second time. During the current visit, he met with the University authorities and representatives of the following faculties at the Silesian University of Technology: Faculty of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science, as well as from the Doctoral School.
- We count on further development of fruitful cooperation between our universities in the field of science and technology. As one of ten research universities in Poland, we are very open to international cooperation, to sharing our knowledge, to gaining new experience and to joint development. Working together as a team of professionals, we can make significant progress for the benefit of science, technology and society. It is very important that despite Brexit, we managed to find a way to make this cooperation a reality, and even more - turn it into a fruitful reality - said the Rector Prof. Arkadiusz Mężyk.
- Taking this opportunity, I would like to thank our colleagues from both the University of Wolverhampton and the Silesian University of Technology for initiating and developing this cooperation. I wish both sides further success and many new interesting initiatives - added the Rector.

Tomasz Krykowski, Vice-Dean for Cooperation and Development at the Faculty of Civil Engineering. Also present were prof. Marek Płaczek, Vice-Dean for Education at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, prof. Dariusz Bismor, Vice-Dean for Infrastructure and Organization at the Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science, prof. Patrycja Hąbek, coordinator of the Doctoral School for international cooperation, prof. Marek Salamak, from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and dr Eng. Grzegorz Kłapyta from the International Relations Office, Muhammad Fawad MS, a student of the Doctoral School.
