Conference “Projects as an opportunity for university development”
Project Management Centre of the Silesian University of Technology, Academic Administration Forum (FAA) and Forum of Technical University Project Management Offices (TUPMO Forum) invite you to the conference “Projects as an opportunity for university development.” The event will take place from the 6th to the 7th of June 2024 at the Education and Congress Centre of the Silesian University of Technology.
The mission of the university is to conduct innovative scientific research and development works, educate highly qualified personnel for the benefit of the knowledge-based society and economy, as well as actively influencing the development of the region and local communities. In order for these processes to proceed smoothly, both scientific and didactic staff and people supporting its activities are necessary.
The implementation of projects is one of the key aspects of the university’s activity – mainly in the research dimension, but also in the didactic or infrastructural dimension. Moreover, due to the way higher education is financed, the demand for projects financed from external sources is increasing, and their number and quality affect the amount of funding and the image of the university.
Whereas conferences and seminars of academics on the art of project management (within management sciences) are natural, there are generally no similar initiatives for management and management staff at universities; if so, these are training courses on individual programs or sources of funding.
Therefore, the FAA Design Section invites you to Gliwice on 6–7 June this year for a conference entitled “Projects as an opportunity for university development”. During the conference, we want to look at projects, and thus our work more broadly – and thus focus on issues related to the shape of project management systems, their functionality, the impact of projects on the whole activity of scholars; we also want to follow new trends, learn about the planned changes, as well as talk about practical aspects of the project implementation process, including financial ones.
We encourage you to take part in this event, on-site or remotely (streaming). We have prepared – in addition to interesting guests and a large dose of practical knowledge – also the opportunity to get to know each other in a nice atmosphere, exchange experiences and establish contacts that will result in joint initiatives in the future.
