Competition with Polish champions in the Polish Rally Championship
Jarosław and Marcin Szeja, Polish rally champions, together with the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology, held a competition as part of the European City of Science Katowice 2024.
The competition consisted in replacing the car wheel on time and tightening it with a torque wrench. The aim was to promote “technical culture” and the application of good principles in the automotive industry. The employees of the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology also answered many questions of the residents of Katowice related to the correctness of car repairs.
In the three editions of the competition, the prizes were:
- VIP entrance to the Silesia 2024 Rally held on 11-13 October 2024, funded by the Szeja Brothers team,
- Torque wrenches funded by the Silesian University of Technology thanks to the support of the Vice-Rector for Cooperation with the Social and Economic Environment Dr Hab. Eng. Marcin Staniek, Prof. SUT.
The Szeja brothers, who also presented their rally car, took part in the event thanks to the efforts of the curator of the Katowice Week and an employee of the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology, Dr Hab. Eng. Grzegorz Wojnar Prof. SUT.
