Competition for the best Master’s and Doctoral theses on biogas and biomethane technologies - 2026 edition
ORLEN invites university graduates and doctoral dissertation authors to participate in the competition for the best Master’s and Doctoral thesis devoted to biogas and biomethane technologies. Applications are open until April 30. As the largest biomethane company in Poland, ORLEN wants to create a valuable platform for knowledge exchange between academia and business. The aim is to promote research, innovation and practical solutions supporting the development of renewable energy sources, with particular emphasis on technologies for the production, use and storage of biogas and biomethane.

Terms and conditions of participation:
- Works can be submitted by 30 April 2026 (Thursday).
- The competition is conducted in two categories: Master’s thesis and Doctoral dissertation.
- Applications should be sent by e-mail to the following address: konkurs_biogaz_biometan@orlen.pl,
together with the participant's data (name, surname, address, telephone, e-mail) and signed the RODO information clause.
The course of the Competition
Competition Jury will select 5 best works in each category, whose authors will be invited to the final of the competition, which will take place in the formula of an online meeting in May 2026
During the final, the authors will present their work in the form of:
- presentation (up to 10 minutes)
- a short film or animation (up to 2 minutes), presenting the main idea of a master's or doctoral thesis.
The Jury will then award three main prizes in each category. The award ceremony will take place during the ORLEN Biomethane Meeting, organized at the Museum of Municipal Gas Plant in Warsaw, on June 16, 2026
