We celebrate outstanding educational achievements at EURECA-PRO. Within the framework of the EURECA-PRO Education and Research Days on the theme “Glocalizing Universities: A Shifting Horizon”, which will take place from the 3rd to 5th February 2026 at Hasselt University, the Teaching Excellence Awards (Teas) for excellence in teaching will be awarded for the first time.
These awards recognize the EUREECA-PRO teachers who demonstrate exceptional innovation, impact and leadership in teaching and learning, share best practices, and help strengthen a dynamic learning culture at the European University. The call for proposals will run until the 30th of November 2025.
Categories of awards
The Rising Star Award
For teachers starting their careers (with no more than five years of experience) or teachers with a PhD or PhD candidate degree, demonstrating a high degree of innovation in teaching.
The Glocal Teaching Excellence Award
For teachers for whom it is extremely important to combine a global perspective with a local and regional issue.
Award for innovative teaching practice
For creative and technological solutions that improve learning outcomes.
How to apply
Select one category and describe your teaching practice (maximum 900 words), demonstrating innovation, impact, and the ability to transfer knowledge. Nominate yourself or a colleague using these forms .
Awards and ceremony
Call for applications will be open until the 30th of November 2025. Finalists will be notified by January 12th, 2026. Winners will be honoured at the Teaching Excellence Awards gala on February 3rd, 2026, at Hasselt University. Each of them will receive a cup, certificate, and a cash prize of 3000 euros, which will be used to further develop their teaching practice.
