Cleaning up Rawa and Rawa Festival are an opportunity for integration
The Katowice City of Science Consortium invites all to participate in the Rawa Festival. The Silesian University of Technology as a member of the consortium, supports the idea of the Green Science Zone, integrating universities in the region with the fabric of the city by creating a public space that will foster conversation and experience of science.
In the coming days, two events will take place, which focus on the care of the common space covering the surroundings of the river Rawa. In Katowice, among others, the Day of Rawa Cleaning is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 18th.
On this day, we planned a clean-up of the banks of the river Rawa (from the Katowice Market Square to the University of Economics), aimed at raising the environmental awareness of the community and engaging it in practical activities to take care of its immediate surroundings. The event will start at 10 a.m. Meet-up in the square in front of CINIBA from Pańki Street. The event will take about two hours.
After the cleaning, we invite you to the Rawa Festival, titled: “We want Rawa,” which is scheduled for May 25th.
As part of this event, which will take place on the boulevards of river Rawa (from the University of Silesia to the University of Economics), there will be thematic walks, talks with scientists, workshops, sports activities, and artistic and musical activities.
It is not only an opportunity to promote the cultural and natural heritage of river Rawa, but also to build stronger social ties around the river and the Green Science Zone.
