Christmas meeting of the beneficiaries of the Mentoring Program “Spread Your Wings.”
On the 4th of December, a festive meeting was held at the Student Activity Centre of the Silesian University of Technology as part of the 9th edition of the Mentoring Program “Spread Your Wings”. It was attended by the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education Prof. Anna Chrobok and students participating in the program.
The meeting was an opportunity for integration, exchange of thoughts, experiences, and areas of interest. The first proposals and ideas for a joint interdisciplinary project which can result from this inspiring collaboration are already emerging. The students also received Christmas gifts from the Vice-Rector, which gave them a lot of joy and added a special character to this meeting. Catering with Christmas dishes was prepared for the event, but students surprised everyone by bringing their own pre-prepared Christmas dishes, which turned out to be a pleasant and warmly received surprise.
During the meeting, workshops on interpersonal competences were held, which were led by Dr Eng. Rafał Setlak, Vice-Dean for Student Affairs and Education at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. The workshops took place in a joyful atmosphere, full of humour, laughter, freedom, and good fun, with the active participation of students.
The participants were then introduced to the world of music as part of the Science with Culture initiative. Dr Eng. Bogusław Ziębowicz talked about music with great passion, shared his thoughts on music, illustrating his stories with exceptional pieces and engaging listeners in a common musical journey to the world of sounds.
This was yet another event in the series of meetings, which take place on the initiative of the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education, Prof. Anna Chrobok It is worth recalling that on 27 October – the Sustainability Day, dedicated to the idea of Sustainable Development – the first meeting of the students of the program inaugurating the new academic year took place in the Main Library of the Silesian University of Technology. The theme of the day was “We are Changing the World for the Better,” which became an inspiration for conversations about responsibility, cooperation, and the positive impact that students can have.
In a friendly atmosphere, during a meal, discussions were held about the plans, ideas, and initiatives of the participants of the program, setting out the directions of activities for the coming months. This slogan perfectly reflects the spirit of the Mentorship Program and the commitment of all its participants.
The coordinator of the series of meetings is Grażyna Maszniew – Director of the Studies Service Centre, which administers the Mentorship Program, as well as is responsible for the logistics of meetings and preparation of their agenda. The Study Service Centre takes care of every detail, ensuring that all activities run smoothly and at the highest level.
