Celebrate St. Andrew’s Day with Polish Traditions!
We invite you to the second integration meeting organized by Welcome Point in cooperation with the Foreign Language Centre. These meetings are dedicated to foreigners who want to make new connections and learn the basics of the Polish language.
Join us on November 26, 2024, at 16:00 for a special event celebrating Andrzejki, the Polish tradition observed on St. Andrew’s night! Get ready for an afternoon full of fun and traditional fortune-telling with a long-standing history!
Here’s what’s in store for you:
- History and Traditions: Learn about the roots of Andrzejki and discover how Poles have celebrated this magical night for centuries, blending folk customs with religious traditions.
- Shoe Race: Want to know who will get married first? Participate in the shoe race, which reveals which couple might be the first to walk down the aisle!
- Apple Peel Tossing: Take an apple, peel it, and toss the peel over your shoulder – the shape that forms will reveal the first letter of your future partner’s name!
- Wax Pouring: Melt the wax, pour it into cold water, and watch the shapes form – each shape has its own meaning and may foretell the future.

This is the perfect opportunity to experience the magic of Andrzejki. Come along for an afternoon full of fun, laughter, and maybe even a little glimpse into the future!

The event will be conducted in English.
The number of places is limited. The order of registration is a deciding factor.
