Carolling with the Academic Choir of Silesian University of Technology!
On December 16th, in the auditorium of the Silesian University of Technology, carolling with the Academic Choir of the Silesian University of Technology took place. Apart from the authorities of the Silesian University of Technology, students, doctoral students, and employees of the University participated in the singing of carols.
A wonderful Christmas climate arrived at the Silesian University of Technology just a week before Christmas. All thanks to the performance of the Academic Choir of the Silesian University of Technology in the auditorium of the Education and Congress Centre of the Silesian University of Technology. On December 16th, at 18 p.m., a joint carolling started here, in which both students, doctoral students and employees of the University, but also the authorities of the Silesian University of Technology, took part.
- We want to celebrate together, and one of the elements of the celebration is traditional Polish carolling. I would like this tradition to unite the community of Silesian University of Technology. I hope that with each subsequent year the interest in this event will grow – said the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. Marek Pawełczyk.
There was no shortage of people willing to share carols. The choir sang both Polish and foreign carols, and later invited guests to sing together. Under the baton of Tomasz Giedwiłło, the audience quickly succumbed to the rhythm and the whole hall resounded with pastorals.
Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education Prof. Dr Hab. Eng. Anna Chrobok added that it was an excellent opportunity to meet with the entire academic community and expand ties.
"This is an opportunity to create a friendly atmosphere in the workplace where we spend a large part of our lives," she said, while wishing the audience all the best for the upcoming holidays and the New Year. “I wish our whole community rest and enthusiasm for the New Year. I also wish students and academic teachers success in the implementation of the plans – added the Vice-Rector.
Christmas aura in the hall of the Silesian University of Technology was added visualizations of snowflakes displayed on new LED screens. It is a purchase that enriched the equipment in the Education and Congress Centre of the Silesian University of Technology and will improve the setting during the most important events organized in this place.
The performance of the Academic Choir of the Silesian University of Technology also allowed to get to know the talents of students, doctoral students, and employees of the Silesian University of Technology, who can boast not only a great voice, but also musical skills in playing instruments. We could listen to flute, cello, saxophone, double bass, and bass guitar.
